SeaWorld Announces Largest Expansion in History of its Orlando Parks
Orlando, Fla. -
SeaWorld Orlando has announced a massive expansion to its theme parks in Orlando, with the addition of three new attractions at both its main park and within Discovery Cove, its second park in Orlando.
In 2012, Turtle Creek will open allowing guests to come nose-to-nose with freshwater fish, manatees, and more than a dozen sea turtles.
Next is Freshwater Oasis which will be part of Discovery Cove and guests can swim and wade with playful otters and marmosets.
Third is a complete redesign of the penguin attraction. "Empire of the Penguin combines closer-than-ever animal connections with state-of-the-art interactive ride technologies for adventures that are different each time," a SeaWorld statement said. This will be a thrill ride and is suppose to be the coldest ride ever.
The first two will be open by spring of 2012. The last is expected to be open sometime near the end of 2012 or beginning of 2013.
