Mail Bomb Explodes In Italy Aftering Being Delivered To The Tax Collector's Director General Near Rome
Rome, Italy -
A yellow padded envelop has exploded after being opened by the Italian tax collection agency's Director General, just outside Rome. The Director General suffered injuries to his hands and eyes.
This follows a parcel mail bomb that was sent to the CEO of Deutche Bank in Frankfurt but was discovered and diffused before it could do any harm. Police said they were investigating possible links to a Frankfurt package bomb intercepted Wednesday, that had been addressed to Deutsche Bank CEO Josef Ackermann. The bomb in Frankfurt was deactivated without incident.
