The 9/11 Memorial in New York City has seen more than 1 million visitors since it opened 16 weeks ago. It opened to family of the victims on 9-11-2011 and the the public the following day.
The museum is still under construction and is planned to open on 9-11-2012.
Designed by architect Michael Arad, the memorial features two huge, square fountains that mark the footprints of the World Trade Center towers. The fountains' water flows into granite reflecting pools at the center of the eight-acre, tree-lined plaza.
