Florida dog found in Maryland
Brody the Ponte Verde Beach dog is safely home after a strange journey ending home in Maryland. Two weeks ago Debby Stevens awoke to fine her beloved lab had not come home. Shortly after flyers were posted all over the neighbor for the wayward pooch. Finally days later Stevens received a phone call that would unravel the mystery of where Brody was which was almost unbelievable. The anonymous caller advised that a relative had been visiting Florida with her three kids who befriended the dog and decided to take it back to New York. On the way the woman was arrested for DUI. The kids placed in foster care and the dog at the pound. Details after that are not clear but the woman who was released the next day was killed by an Amtrak train in Havre de Grace. The caller directed Stevens to call local shelters and she was able to find the dog. Stevens with help of animal rescue agencies was able to fly up get the dog and bring Brody home.
