Man Dies In Car On I-4/Lake Mary Eastbound Causing a 4 Mile Traffic Backup

A 79 year old man was discovered dead in his 2012 Lincoln that was pulled off to the side of I-4 eastbound in Lake Mary this morning that caused a 4 mile traffic backup as rescue crews arrived.
The man was found by a Road Ranger who had stopped to help what he thought was a stranded motorist.
According to the FHP, it appears for now the man died of a medical condition but will wait for an autopsy before closing the investigation.
The Road Rangers are part of a joint initiative by the Florida Department of Transportation and State Farm insurance company that patrol Central Florida roadways and highways to help motorists and provide crash scene safety.
