FBI Arrests 5 Men Over Plot To Blow Up Bridge Near Cleveland Ohio
The FBI have arrested five men it says were engaged in a plot to blow up a bridge near Cleveland, Ohio saying three of them were anarchists. They targeted a four lane bridge over Cuyahoga Valley National Park, about 15 miles south of Cleveland said an FBI spokesperson.
The FBI said the three of the men arrested are self described anarchists and have no tied to international terrorism.
Three of the men arrested were identified as Brandon L. Baxter, 20; Douglas L. Wright, 26; and Anthony Hayne, 35 and have been charged with conspiracy and trying to use explosives to damage property affecting interstate commerce while charges are still pending agist the other two who's named have not been released yet.
"The individuals charged in this plot were intent on using violence to express their ideological views," Special Agent Stephen D. Anthony, who oversees the FBI's Cleveland division, said in a statement. "The Joint Terrorism Task Force will continue to be vigilant in its efforts to detect and disrupt any terrorism threat, domestic or international."
