The Olympic Flame was lit today at the birthplace of the ancient games, Olympia Greece, by the high priestess, who used a mirror to focus the mirror and light the flame. From there the fire will travel to the Panathenian Stadium where it will be handed over to the current host of the games that start this summer, London.

Once arriving in the U.K., it will travel around the country and to Ireland before making its entrance to the games to light the official Olympic torch signaling the start of the games. Unlike past summer Olympic games, the torch relay will not travel around the world, instead of staying only in the U.K. and Ireland.
