Tropical Storm Alberto was northeast of Jacksonville Florida early Sunday morning, and after an expected move south, is forecasted to head northeast. Most of the southern half of the South Carolina coast is under a tropical storm warning at this time. Maximum sustained winds have reached 45 mph.

The National Hurricane Center does not expect Alberto, the first Atlantic named storm of the 2012 hurricane season, to strengthen into a hurricane.
