Top Suspect In Murder Of 49 People Found Outside Monterrey Captured
Monterrey, MX -
The Mexican Army along with federal police have captured Daniel de Jesus Elizondo Ramirez, aka "El Loco" ("The Madman"), who is a top suspect in the mass murder of 49 people, whose bodies were found in a mass pile alongside a road in Cadereyta, Nuevo Leon,, just outside of Monterrey Mexico recently.
Elizondo-Ramirez is a local leader in the Zetas drug cartel, and reportedly lobbed grenades at authorities as they closed in on him. Following his capture, he disclosed details of the brutal slayings according to police in Mexico.
Last week, Mexico's interior minister said the killings were the result of a fierce feud over territory and power between the Zetas and members of the allied Gulf and Sinaloa cartels.
The Zetas cartel hung banners across the region saying they were not the ones who committed the brutal acts that killed the 49 people, most of which had their hands, feet and other body parts dismembered.
