I-4 eastbound currently is shut down near Osceola Parkway in Osceola County. Westbound I-4 is closed at SR 535. The Division of Forestry is working at the scene but has not been able to determine when the road will be re-opened. Traffic is expected to worsened due to the large amount of tourists who will be leaving attractions in the area.
It is still unclear what caused the fire but Florida Highway Patrol is set to have a press conference this evening to further advise of the conditions. Motorists in the area are being cautious especially in the wake of the 2008 smog caused crash that resulted in over 60 cars being involved in one of the worst road disasters in Florida history.
