Egypt's Supreme Council Lifts Emergency Law After 30 years
Cairo, Egypt -
The Supreme Council Of the Armed Forces of Egypt has upheld it's promise to life the emergency law Thursday morning. Emergency law had been in place for more than 30 years with Hosni Mubarak implementing it when he took power in 1981.
The elections comes as the county's first free elections were just recently held. The emergency laws were one of the principle demands of the protestors during the Arab Spring uprising in Egypt.
