FHP Steps Up Patrols And Enforcement During 4th Of July Holiday

The Florida Highway Patrol, FHP, said it is stepping up patrols during the fourth of July holiday starting today. To increase its public presence, the FHP said they are pulling every available person, including those normally assigned to desk duties and administrative work and putting them in police vehicles.

Troopers will patrol major streets and the state's highways and toll roads starting today with their increased presence and end on July 5th, Thursday.

The FHP has said they hope to deter drunk driving and asks anyone who sees someone driving drunk, an accident or needs help themselves to call *FHP (*347) from their mobile phone.
