George Zimmerman Interview On Fox; Says He's Not A Murderer

Sanford, Fla. -

George Zimmerman has given his first TV interview since the shooting death of Trayvon Martin on Feb 26. He appeared on Fox News in an interview with Sean Hannity. Also appearing with Zimmerman was his defense attorney Mark O'Mara.

During the interview, Zimmerman says he's not a murderer and calls all the media attention "surreal" but said "what happened that night was God's plan."

During the interview, Hannity asked Zimmerman what is considered one of the most important questions. Why did he follow Trayvon Martin?

In response, Zimmerman said "I meant I was going in the same direction as him to keep an eye on him, so I could tell the police where he was going," Zimmerman explained. "I didn't mean I was actually pursuing him."

Sean Hannity previously interviewed George Zimmerman's father and also had an off-the-record conversation with George Zimmerman before he was arrested.

The interview was done in a local Sanford, Florida area hotel because George Zimmerman has been prohibited from leaving the county under the terms of his release and bond.
