Breast Implant Scam At Nellis AFB In Las Vegas Leads To Guilty Plea
Las Vegas, NV -
Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto has announced that 31-year-old Shanita Flax has pleaded guilty to a breast implant scam while working as a civilian contractor at the Nellis AFB Hospital in Las Vegas.
The government covers breast implants in cases of medical necessity such as after surgery from cancer or other legitimate medical needs but does not cover implants for just cosmetic reasons.
Flax was accused of taking money from patients from cosmetic breast implants and pocketing the money while ordering the patients' implants for reasons such as cancer so they will be covered 100%.
