Passbook has scored a big hit with Major League Baseball as 12% of all single-game tickets over a two week period were sold and used via the iPhone 5’s new feature.

The MLB was testing fan reaction to Passbook by introducing it to the final two weeks of regular season baseball.

According to Mashable, Matthew Gould, vice president of communication for MLB Advanced Media said: “We were really pleased, obviously surprised given those parameters.”

E-Tickets have been a growing segment of retail and event sales, account for as much as 40% at some events.

Apple’s Passbook also lets users with iOS6 store movie tickets, boarding passes, and other similar information.
