Knowing is half the battle when it comes to this burst of Americana. The “Joe’s” are back in action, and I mean a lot of action, as the special military group takes it to the evil “Cobras.”

What’s it about?: A plot to take over the world is the centerpiece of this second feature based on the famous after-school cartoon that every growing boy loved and imitated.

Who’s the Man? You get to see what “The Rock”‘s got cooking. “The Rock,” now officially actor Dwayne Johnson, seems to be the leader of the pack, not only in this movie but every other movie out so far in 2013.  He has four movies in four months, SnitchG.I. Joe: RetaliationPain & Gain and Fast and Furious 6, all of which will hit the theaters before Memorial Day.  Channing Tatum (Magic Mike, The Vow) and shoot’em up legend Bruce Willis lead the formidable “Joe’s.”

Who’s that Girl? Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights)? Where have you been all my life? I guess I will have to lift my boycott of the Red Dawn remake as Palicki brings the woman power as Lady Jaye.

Why Should I Go? G.I. Joe: Retaliation seems to be accurate to the cartoon that my memory recalls.  The nostalgia is more apparent in this installment than it was in its predecessor G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

Is it any good? If you need action, G.I. Joe is there! It never gives up and stays till the fight’s won!

G.I. Joe: Retaliation – Score:  6.8

The scoring scale is out of 11 total possible points.  Why 11 and not 10? “Because this goes to 11” – Spinal Tap
