Doctors have diagnosed the first human, Jim Dunbar, with a newly realized medical illness, Chronic Lateness, and yes, they say it is real.
Dunbar lives in Scotland and says he had been late to nearly everything in his life despite acquiring precision clocks, advanced alarm and giving himself hours to get to a destination a few minutes away.
Interestingly, Dunbar was 20 minutes late to his doctor’s appointment when the official’s diagnosis was made.
Doctors say the condition is similar to ADHD in that it inhibits a person’s ability to determine how long something will take.
Dunbar has said he hopes publicity about his condition will help others and help the medical community to do more research on how to combat the persistently late to recognize the illness.
Doctor’s say they can assure the diagnosis is medically based and not because a person is lazy.
