St. Petersburg, Fla.

Police have arrested 51-year-old James Mahoney after he called 911 to find out the status of his tax returns.  Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies say Mahoney called 911 and remained on the phone with the dispatcher while they arrived.  When asked why he replied he was “messed up” according to the police report of his arrest.

Mahoney was arrested and booked into the Pinellas County jail.  He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of making a false 911 call and was sentenced to two days in jail.
