Apple has unveiled its new mobile entertainment system for your car, the CarPlay, which replaces a working name sometimes referred to as iOS in the Car.
This week at the Geneva Auto Show, Apple showcased to the public CarPlay, which is a simplified iOS environment eliminating a keyboard and advanced settings found on the iPhone and iPad and keeping just enough to play your music, use GPS and other entertainment features.
So far, Ferrari, Volvo, and Mercedes have signed up, but you can expect other auto manufacturers to follow suit as either OEM or optional features for select models because the demand for all things Apple is still so high, that Apple loves you each week to the tune of over 1 billion dollars it rakes in.
Highlighted featured included an advanced voice command recognition system, as well as Siri being able to read more things to you such as get messages, emails, and web pages.
The best part is, you don’t need any specialized equipment, other than the screen, just your iPhone 5, 5S or 5C, which connects to the system via a lightning cable. Carplay is controlled or driven by your iPhone and not the car.
