Southwest Airlines has announced it will add seven new routes out of Washington, D.C.’s Reagan National Airport, DCA, as it receives new slots that were given up by American/U.S. Airways as a condition of that merger.

New routes from DCA include flights to Chicago Midway, Nashville, New Orleans, Tampa, Akron-Canton, Dallas Love Field and Indianapolis.

Southwest also said it will increase the number of daily flights on existing routes between Houston Hobby airport and St. Louis.

By the end of the year, the carrier expects to have 44 daily departures from DCA to 14 destinations.
