A Chicago Transit Authority train has derailed and crashed into a platform at O’Hare International Airport, ORD, injuring at least 32. The incident happened Monday mooring at about 2:50 am, central time.
The eight-car train then jumped a barricade and was lodged up onto an escalator. None of the injured sustained life-threatening injuries according to the CTA and area hospitals.
Monday mooring commuters found the blue line was still closed and the CTA was using buses to substitute service. CTA spokesperson Brian Steele said that officials are still trying to piece together what happened and that all aspects are being examined.
