Emirates Airlines completed the first rotation of the new Orlando-Dubai non-stop service today with a water cannon salute by the Orlando airport’s Fire Rescue department, with the Gulf carrier using an Airbus A380, landing at 11:29 am on runway 18R and operated as flight UAE219.
Despite the A380 being used on the inaugural flight, Emirates will normally fly a 266 seat Boeing 777LR configured in a 3 class layout with flights leaving Dubai at 4:09 am (Dubai local time) and landing in Orlando at 11:30 am EST.
Emirates now flies to 10 U.S. destinations including New York, Houston, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.
This new route will constitute the longest route from Orlando at a little over 14 hours or 7,700 miles.
