An Orlando Police officer has been injured after being dragged by a car during a traffic stop.

According to the Orlando Police Department, the officer was conducting a traffic stop on Kaley Street and Division Avenue at around 12:30 am on Wednesday.

The driver became combative and drove off with the officer being dragged. The officer was able to separate from the vehicle and went back to their patrol car as the driver who was pulled over fled the scene.

The officer, who has not been named was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and later released.

The vehicle that was originally pulled over was found abandoned nearby with no signs of the driver. Officers have found items inside the vehicle they believe belong to the driver.

Police say that an investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
