Officials with Amtrak are investigating what happened when one of their trains was stuck on Sunday night leaving a large crack in its windshield.
The Acela Express was traveling along the tracks in Bridgeburg, Pennsylvania at around 7:00 p.m. when an object struck the train. The train safely made it to the Metropark station in New Jersey.
Staff aboard the train discovered a large impact a window on the train.
Once the train stopped at the station, Amtrak police boarded the train and investigated.
A spokesperson for Amtrak has said that they have not determined what it was that struck the train.
The train carried 201 passengers aboard on its way to New York City.
Sunday’s incident comes after Amtrak suffered a deadly derailment in May that may have involved an object striking the train.
