Destin, Fla.

Search-and-rescue crews are searching for survivors after a small plane crashed off the coast of Destin on Thursday night.

According to the Coast Guard, they received a report around 8 p.m. that a single-engine airplane crashed into the water off Henderson Beach.

Crews with the Coast Guard, local fire departments, Okaloosa County And Walton County Sheriff’s departments responded to the scene.

A large amount of debris has been found on the beach but there are no signs of the pilot.

It is not known who owned the plane or how many people were aboard at the time of the crash. The plane was reported overdue at Destin Executive Airport.
