Search and rescue crews are inspecting homes in the Florida Panhandle after severe weather struck on Monday.
The town of Century in Escambia County appears to have been struck by at least one tornado. The resulting storm damaged or destroyed 10 homes according to officials with Escambia County.
Search-and-rescue crews spend the night going to everyone home in the affected area to search for those that were injured. At this time there have only been two reports of minor injuries.
An Escambia County Sheriff Deputy reported seeing the tornado while he was in his patrol car. The deputy said that the tornado uprooted a pine tree and flung it in front of his vehicle.
Gulf Power, the energy provider for Century estimates that about 800 people were without power.
Some schools in Escambia County will be closed for the day.
