Officials with the Florida Department of Health announced on Monday that a new case of the Zika virus was discovered in Orange County.

The newest case of Zika is the second in Orange County and the 28th in the State.

Officials say that the newest case of Zika was contracted overseas.

So far none of the individuals infected were pregnant.

Zika virus is currently a major issue in South and Central America. The mosquito-borne illness is believed to be linked to cases of microcephaly; a condition where children are born with abnormally shaped heads.
