Orange County Sheriff deputies arrested a man accused of robbing multiple places while dressed as Batman.
Juan Nieves Morales, 26, was arrested on Monday and faces at least three burglary charges. He is believed to be linked to at least eight robberies in the east Orange County area. The robberies were mostly discount and food stores.
Deputies say that Nieves Morales first started his crime spree on January 22nd with his last robbery on February 21st.
Nieves Morales was caught after trying to rob a pizza restaurant. He was chased away by witnesses but not before he accidentally left his cell phone at the scene. Deputies were able to use the information on that phone to arrest the suspect.
Deputies say that Nieves Morales has a $1,000-a-day heroin addiction, which may have spurred his crime spree.
