A tornado tore through Alabama on Tuesday night leaving four people hurt and causing a large amount of damage.
The storm struck about 15 miles southwest of Birmingham.
According to the Jefferson County Emergency Management office, there were four people injured. Two of the injured required hospitalization; it is unclear what their conditions are at this time.
About 30 homes were damaged and multiple power lines were downed. It is estimated that almost 7,000 homes were without power for the evening.
A tornado is thought to have touched down near I-459 near the Bent Brook Golf Club. The National Weather Service has yet to verify the tornado or classified its strength.
