The son of music icon Frank Sinatra died from a heart attack on Wednesday while on tour in Daytona Beach.

Frank Sinatra Jr., 72, was in Daytona Beach scheduled to perform at the Peabody Auditorium for his show “Sinatra Sings Sinatra.” The show features him singing his father hits songs.

Nancy Sinatra, sister of Frank wrote on Facebook that her brother died after suffering from cardiac arrest while in Daytona Beach.

The younger Sinatra had started his career at a young age emulating his father’s musical rise. At the age of 19, he was kidnapped and held for ransom for two days until his father paid the $240,000 ransom. Three people were ultimately arrested.

Sinatra spent his career working with father as musical director and conductor. He later began performing his father’s songs on tour and it shows in Las Vegas.

The elder Sinatra died from a heart attack on May 14, 1998, at the age of 82.
