A car crash in Titusville on Monday night has left three children dead and eight others injured.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 6:30 p.m. on I-95 when an SUV carrying 11 people lost control. It is believed that a tire may have failed to cause the SUV to flip.
All lanes of northbound traffic were shut down as crews from multiple agencies responded to the scene to provide aid.
Three children were pronounced dead at the scene while the remaining eight in the vehicle was taken to the hospital.
A toddler in a car seat was ejected from the vehicle and was sent flying over a 20-foot tall barrier wall. The toddler survived and was taken to the hospital where he is in stable condition.
Troopers say that it appears at this time that at least some of the people involved in the crash were not wearing seatbelts.
The name of the driver and passengers has not been released.
