Now You Can Vote For Santa Claus In November Presidential Election

According to state officials, you can vote for Santa Claus in 15 states on the presidential ballot.

The following sentence appeared in the Capital Gazette over the weekend: “If elected, Claus promises he will be the first chief executive to fasten the presidential seal to the back of a flying reindeer sleigh.”

In addition to Maryland and 13 other states, you can also vote for Mr Claus in Nevada where a man with that name did file the appropriate paperwork with the state on time.

Israeli Prime Minister went on television and made a passionate plea to American voters to election a president that will help Israel draw a "red line" in the sand against Iran and its nuclear program.

Netanyahu has been frustrated with the Obama Administration which as refused to endorse Israeli politics or a military stance yet, saying there is still time and wants sanctions to take hold.

Voter ID Law In Texas Has Been Struck Down By Federal Court

A three judge federal court in Texas has ruled for the second time this week, that Texas' voter ID law violated the Voting Rights Act. The court ruled Texas may not enforce the law it passed saying it is discriminatory against poor and minority voters.

The ruling has given winds to those who have been fighting a wave of new voting laws that have been enacted in several states over the last year, as the conservative court historically sides with the state citing state's rights.

Republican National Convention Opens In Tampa Then Immediately Goes Into Recess

The Republican National Convention opened at 2:00pm today highlighting a debt clock that is counting the United States' debt as it accrues since the start of the convention.

Immediately after the opening, the convention went into recess due to the weather affects of Tropical Storm Isaac.

Romney Campaign Under Fire For Using "Panic Switch" Song Illegally At Campaign Event

The Romney campaign has received a cease-and-desist letter from the attorney of the band Silversun Pickups after using one of the band's songs, "Panic Switch", at a recent campaign event in North Carolina without permission of the band.

Apparently the campaigned played the song at an event but never attempted to contact the band or any of its representatives for permission according to reports.

Mitt Romney has chosen Paul Ryan has his running mate for the republican nomination and presumed republican ticket to go up against President Obama in the general election in November.

Ryan is probably best known to most Americans as the man who offered up federal budget plans for the republicans over the last few years that were met with a lot of political controversy and labeled as too harsh and too extreme too fast and not representing the realities of the American people.

President Obama Makes A Stop At Rollins College In Winter Park

President Obama made a campaign stop today at Rollins College in Winter Park where he talked about his vision for the future with a packed house, estimated at 2,400 by the fire inspector.

After arriving at the Harold and Ted Alfond Sports Center and taking the stage just after 2:58pm, Obama briefly praised the U.S. Olympic athletes and joked that he could never stand on such a narrow balance beam and then jump and flip.

Deadline To Vote In Florida Primary Elections Is Today

Today is the deadline for Florida voters to register to vote int he state's primary elections for the U.S. and state house and senate. The primary will be on August 14.

New voters or those wanting to change their registered party must do so in person today or new registrations and party affiliation changes must be post marked by July 16 (today) if mailed in, in order to vote in the primary.
