Lion Air Flight Skids Off Runway Into Ocean In Bali

A Lion Air Boeing 737 skidded off the runway in the resort island of Bali on Saturday. The plane was coming from Bandung, West Java when it was attempting to land at the Ngurah Rai Airport. The plan skidded off the runway and into the shallow waters 650 feet past the end of the runway.

The cause of the failed landing is underway. There are no reported injuries to the 101 passengers and seven crew on board.

2 Swim To Safety After Plane Lands In Water

Overnight an airplane sank in Lake Disston near the Volusia-Flagler county line in central Florida when a plane attempted to land using its water floats when at least one of them did not respond properly and the plane began to sink, according to investigators on the scene of the incident.

Two people managed to swim to safety, the pilot and passenger, Allan and Kathrine Burrows of Port Orange.

Officials say they do not yet know what caused the sinking and they need to recover the plane before they can give more information.

Three Dead In Plane Crash In Fort Lauderdale

A twin engine Piper PA31 plane crashed on Friday at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport resulted in all three onboard dead. The crash occurred at 4:30 p.m. shortly after departing the airport.

The plane circled back to the airport then crashed in a parking lot nearby damaging multiple vehicles and a boat. There were no injuries on the ground. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.

Plane Crash In Punta Gorda FL Injures Several

There has been a plane crash in Punta Gorda, Florida overnight and officials do not know yet how it happened.

FAA officials are on the scene of the crash in which a single engine experimental plane being flown by 72-year-old Charles D. Williams.

William and two other men were on board the a plane when it crashed, all suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The plane came down after it reportedly encountered engine problems.

Ultralight Challenger Plane Crashes In Plant City Killing Pilot After Failing To Make 3rd Landing Attempt

Plant City, Fla. -

An Ultralight Challenger small single seat aircraft has crashed at the Blackwater Creek Flight Park in Plant City, just outside Tampa. The pilot, 79 year old William L. Phillips, was killed.

Officials have stated that he made two previous landing attempts before finally crashing after coming in hard and flat the third time.

Rescue crews found Phillips dead, still buckled into his seat and were unable to revive him.

Investigators with Hillsborough County are at the scene conducting an investigation to make sure no criminal activity cause the plane to crash.

UPDATE: 6-8-12 3:42pm- The last victim, the body of 13 year old Boston Bramlage has been recovered from the crash site.
UPDATE 8:21pm- A family of six, 2 adults and 4 children have now been confirmed killed in the crash.

An airplane has crashed in Lake Wales on Walk-in-Water Road in a remote area near the Tiger Creek Swamp at 12:55pm killing three people (the death toll is now up to six). A witness to the crash has reported the plane was “twirling around" before it crashed. NTSB investigators are already on the scene and have begun their investigation.

Experimental SeaRay Airplane Crashes Into Alligator Infested Lake Jessup, Near Sanford Florida; Pilot OK

An experimental airplane has crashed into Lake Jessup, just outside of Sanford Florida. Seminole County emergency management officials said they started to receive calls at 8:30am Thursday morning that an airplane had crashed into the alligator infested lake.

Airplane Crash In Nepal's Himalayas Kills 15, Injures 6; Was Trying To Land At Jomsom Airport

An airplane has crashed while trying to land at Jomsom Airport, high up in the Himalaya Mountains in Nepal. 15 have died and six other have suffered injuries, some severe. Among the survivors were two Danish citizens.

The plane crashed while turning towards the Jomsom Airport, a gateway to the Muktinath temple, said Laxmi Raj Sharma, chief government administrator in the area. The airport is considered one of the most dangerous in the world with a landing strip that is just 1,742 feet long high up in the steep mountains surrounding the airport.

Rescuers Reach Indonesian Crash Site Of Sukhoi Superjet-100; Crashed During Demo Flight

Rescuers reached the crash site of the downed Sukhoi Superjet-100 about 20 hours after it crashed into the remote volcanic mountains south of Jakarta. There appears to be no survivors from the crash in which debris can be seen down the sides of a steep mountain, there were 48 people on board.

The new Sukhoi Superjet-100 airplane was in Indonesia for flight demonstrations with journalist and potential buyers from several airlines on the plane when it crashed.

New Russian Civilian Aircraft On Demo Flight Believed To Have Crashed In Indonesia

Russia's newest entry into the civilian aviation industry may have already failed when a new Sukhoi Superjet-100 is believed to have crashed in Indonesia while on a demonstration flight with potential buyers and journalist on board.

The new jet was using a prototype airframe, 95005, is made in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Russia and can carry up to 100 people, depending on the configuration. It was in Jakarta Indonesia for a promotional tour when air traffic controllers lost contact with the plane somewhere just south of the capital.
