Boeing Completes Flight Certification Tests On 747-8's With More Fuel Efficiency

Boeing has announced that it has successfully completed the flight test certification needed for the 747-8 Intercontinental which includes a Performance Improvement Package (PIP) with the GEnx-2B engines made by General Electric and updates to the Flight Management Computer (FMC) software and successfully demonstrating the operation of the horizontal tank fuel system on the passenger version of the 747-8, which had been left off production models so far.

US Airways Plane Lands At Newark Liberty International Airport With No Landing Gear

A US Airways plane landed at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey Saturday morning without its landing gear. The plane operated by Piedmont Airlines under the US Express banner was coming from Philadelphia.

The Turboprop plane carried three crew members and 31 passengers landed after an hour in a holding pattern while the crew attempted to solve the problem. After several attempt to get the gear down the decision was made to land the plane on its belly.

Dead Body Found In Landing Gear Of Plane That Landed In France

French officials are investigating how a dead body was found in the landing gear of an airplane that arrived from Douala airport in Cameroon.

The CAMAIRCO airplane landed at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport where a man about 30 years old was discovered in what officials described as a do-or-die voyage hoping to escape poverty.

Stowyay's have been discovered arriving into London and Paris, as well as many other cities over the last decade, with most dying, never making it to their destination.

Mitt Romney BLIMP Makes Emergency Landing In Davie Florida

A blimp chartered by the Mitt Romney campaign was forced to make an emergency landing after it began deflating while en-route from Boca Raton to the North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines.

It had been flying near Lynn University, the site of Monday night's (tonight) political debate between Barrack Obama and Mitt Romney.

Police say there were no injuries as the blimp came down in a neighborhood that has historically voted democrat.

Sun N' Fun Starts Today; Florida Aviation Show Expected To Attract 160,000 To The 38th Annual Air Show

Lakeland, Fla. -

The 38th annual Sun N' Fun Fly-In air show starts today in Lakeland Florida and is expected to attract as many as 160,000 visitors along with nearly 100 experimental aircraft plus the usual warbirds, and other flying craft. The event is at the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport in Polk County and runs through April 1st.

In addition to the demonstration flights there will also be exhibits, forums, speakers, air museum tours and other daily air shows and acrobatics.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner To Be Front And Center At Singapore Airshow

Boeing's 787 Dreamliner is set to take center stage at this weeks upcoming Singapore Airshow which opens Tuesday. ANA has already flown one it its two Dreamliners to Singapore in preparation and Boeing will be making a big push to attract buyers and announce deals.

Boeing is trying to overcome a beleaguered image resulting from the delayed launch of its much touted Dreamliner, originally scheduled to enter service three years earlier but only finally delivered its first plane late last year.

New Cracks Found In A380 Wing, EASA Orders Inspections On All A380s, Airbus Says Planes Are Safe

The European Aviation Safety Agency has ordered new inspections following more cracks being found in the wings of A380 superjumbo jets during an unscheduled inspection. It has expanded it inspection mandate to all 67 Airbus A380's currently in service.

The cracks had been found "following an unscheduled internal inspection of an A380 wing," EASA said in a statement. The statement also said if the cracks were not corrected, it could lead to structural failure.

U.S. Evicted From Shamsi Air Base in Pakistan, Vacating Base That Handled CIA Drone Aircraft By Thursday

Pakistan has evicted the United States from the Shamsi Airbase in Pakistan following further straining of diplomatic ties and the deaths of 24 Pakistani soldiers by a CIA unmanned drone aircraft.

The U.S. blamed the deaths on Pakistan saying it was wanting to take action on militants in the area and asked if there were any units nearby, which Pakistan said no and it could not help. However Pakistan blames the U.S. saying incorrect coordinates were given. The U.S. denies this.

The F-35 Lightning is America's newest entry for U.S. military forces and is also a stealth fighter.  It is a multi role jet, coming in three variants produced by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics.  The primary missions of the F-35 family are ground attack, reconnaissance and air defense and is a descendant of the X-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, JSF.

Delta Airline Planes Makes Emergency Landing in Kentucky/Cincinnati Airport

A Delta jet made an emergency landing Tuesday morning at the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati International Airport.

According to airport officials, it as reported there was smoke in the cockpit on the plane while en route to Atlanta from Flint Michigan.

The plane landed without incident, and was moved to the maintenance area where mechanics are inspecting the airplane for the cause. According to Delta, there were 130 passengers plus six crew members on board. After landing in Kentucky, passengers were put onto another aircraft and flown to Atlanta.
