U.S. Prepares Military Intervention Plans Into Syria As Country's Chemical Weapons Become Vulnerable

Top military leaders have said they have been drawing up plans to intervene into Syria militarily in cooperation with Turkish and Jordanian forces as the concerns about Syria's large stockpile of chemical weapons becomes more vulnerable.

Syrian troops have been abandoning posts as rebels grow stronger and take more territory in this 21 month old civil war between rebels who demanded more reforms and democracy and its embattled leader, Bashar al-Assad.

U.S. And Russia To Support Mediation Within Syrian Conflict

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said the U.S. had Russia have agreed to support meditation talks in Syria with all sides participating in the hope of ending the 21-month civil war and forces hundreds of thousands of refugees into camps in Turkey and Jordan.

However, as part of the mediation, Clinton said Syrian President Bashar al-Assad must leave and give up power as part of any deal. The agreement comes as there are new reports that Syrian military forces have begun moving chemical weapons and equipping rockets with the dangerous munitions.

Protests In Egypt Continue For Second Day After President Morsi Makes Offense Grab At Power

Cairo woke up to a second day of protest after Egyptian President Morsi made a power grab Friday by decreeing his rules and orders can not be challenged by the courts or the nation's parliament. Morsi also removed Egypt's Chief Justice Friday.

In what the president's office says was meant to be a temporary action meant t break to logjam and speed up the transition to democracy and a new constitution, President Morsi has come under fire from political opponents and even some in his own party, the Muslim Brotherhood.

Egyptians Protest President Morsi's New Decree Anointing Himself As Pharaoh And Un-Challengable

Egyptians took to the streets following President Morsi's decree that his rules and orders can not be legally challenged with some calling him the self appointed Pharaoh.

Supporters of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood and opponents threw rocks at each other in Cairo and in other cities around Egypt.

"Morsi a 'temporary' dictator," was the headline in the independent daily Al-Masry Al-Youm.

The president's decree aimed to end the logjam and push Egypt, the Arab world's most populous nation, more quickly on its democratic path, the presidential spokesman said.

NATO Says it Will Consider Turkish Request For Patriot Missiles Immediately

NATO has said that it will consider Turkey's request for patriot missiles immediately. Turkey has requested the missiles after Syrian civil war violence and government forces have repeatedly spread across the border and into Turkey, killing several civilians.

Turkey is a founding member of NATO and the defense alliance has previously said that it will do whatever it takes to defend its ally, Turkey.

Syrian Rebels Capture Military Base East Of Aleppo Containing Large Amounts Of Munitions

Syrian rebels have made a significant step forward in their efforts to topple the Syrian regime lead by Bashar al-Assad by capturing a military base about 15 miles west of Aleppo. The base was home to the 46th Regiment and contained thousands of rounds of munitions and explosions.

Turkey Beefs Up Border Protection Against Syrian Fire By Asking NATO For Missiles

Turkey is reportedly asking its NATO allies to send Patriot Missile defense systems to be placed along its border with Syria as the 20 month old civil conflict rages on with no end it sight and as the violence increasingly spills over into Turkey.

Over the last few months Turkey has been the recipient of numerous motor and rockets fired from Syria and in some cases, Turkish civilians have been injured. Last months the Turkish government authorized the use of military force into Syria, but so far has not launched any invasion.

Syrian Conflict Spreading To Israel And Turkey As NATO Chief Says It Will Back Its Turkish Ally

As the now 20 month old Syrian conflict continues to rage with no obvious end soon, the conflict has, at times, spilled over into Turkey and now Israel as both countries have seen motor shells fall into their territory.

Israel has fired artillery shells into Syria for two days in response to both days receiving fire from the Syrian side of the border in the Golan Heights. Both were declared direct hits.

Western Nations Begin To Back Syrian Opposition Coalition After Qatar And Turkey Approve

Western nations have begun to support a new opposition coalition to the Syrian government lead by Bashar al-Assad, who have been leading a blooding crackdown on his citizens for the last 20 months.

An estimated 36,000 people have been killed in Syria since the Arab Spring uprising spread to Syria and Assad responded with military force.

France Says It Will Officially Recognize Syrian Provisional Government

In an annual speech to diplomats in Paris, French President François Hollande has said that France wants the Syrian opposition for form a provisional government and that France would recognize it.

“France asks the Syrian opposition to form a provisional government — inclusive and representative — that can become the legitimate representative of the new Syria,... France will recognize the provisional government of Syria once it is formed,” said Hollande.
