Atlanta, GA. -
Atlantic Southeast Airlines, ASA, will become ExpressJet, XJT. ASA, owned by SkyWest, previously bought ExpressJet, in a further consolidation of air carriers and had came up with the name SureJet as the new combined company's name for ASA. Shortly after the thud, the company recalled the name and stuck with ASA for the time being.
But now, after all things considered, airline officials have decided to call themselves ExpressJet. Company officials decided the name has good brand reputation, and as of 2010 ranked high in customer satisfaction for regional carriers.
