BMW Issues Recall Of 500,000 Cars Due To Faulty Battery Cable Which Can Cause Accidents
BMW has issued a recall of 500,000 vehicles after discovering a faulty battery cable that can lead to an accident, with at least one confirmed case so far.
The recall covers 3 Series sedans, wagons, convertibles and coupes from the 2007 through 2011 model years, 1 Series coupes and convertibles from the 2008 through 2012 model years and the Z4 from 2009 through 2011.
In those vehicles, the battery is located in the trunk and the connections are covered in tin which can degrade over time causing the cable to become disconnected resulting in the car stalling while driving.
