Boy Scouts of America Put Off Decision To Allow Gay Members
Dallas, TX -
The Boy Scouts of America, BSA, has decided to put off a decision to allow gay members within its ranks and cited intense pressure from both anti-gay and gay rights advocates.
BSA had been expected to vote today to allow for each local troop to decide for themselves to allow gay members or not.
“In the past two weeks, Scouting has received an outpouring of feedback from the American public,” said the BSA’s national spokesman, Deron Smith. “It reinforces how deeply people care about Scouting and how passionate they are about the organization.”
