Casey Anthony Attorneys Are In Bankruptcy Court Today

Tampa, Fla. -

Casey Anthony's lawyers will be back in a bankruptcy court in Tampa today hoping to get the two defamation cases against her thrown out, one by meter reader Roy Kronk and the other by Zenaida Gonzalez, an Orlando woman with the same name as the unknown person Anthony used in her murder defense.

Anthony is $800,000 in debt and says she has no way to pay back what she owes and had filed bankruptcy. Under bankruptcy laws, pending lawsuits can also be discharged in a bankruptcy case, but lawyers for Kronk and Gonzalez are fighting to have their cases heard in state court.

Casey Anthony To Be In Bankruptcy Court Today In Tampa

Casey Anthony is set to appear in a Tampa bankruptcy court today in an effort to have Zenaida Gonzalez and Roy Kronk's lawsuit against her dismissed.

Both are expected to also appear before judge Judge K. Rodney May, and are expected to argue that their lawsuits against Anthony for defamation of character should not be dismissed yet and to extend the deadline for the to challenge the dismissal.

Court Trustee In Casey Anthony Asks Court Permissoin To Sell her Story To Pay Legal Debts

Orlando, Fla. -

Court Trustee Stephen Meininger has asked Judge K. Rodney May for permission to sell the "worldwide legal rights" to the Casey Anthony story to pay her legal debts. Anthony is in bankruptcy and has stated she has no job and no income.

Casey Anthony is 26-years-old now and was acquitted of murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

Up to now, Anthony has never told her side of the story to the press, media, book sellers or movie studios.

Appeals Court Overturns 2 Of 4 Convictions For Casey Anthony

Daytona Beach, Fla. -

The 5th District Court of Appeals has tossed out two of the four convictions against Casey Anthony when she was convicted during her July of 2011 Murder trial in which she was acquitted for killing her daughter Caylee, but was convicted of lying to investigators.

Giving 'false information' is different than giving 'false statements' according to the Appeals Court in its decision to vacate two of the convictions.

Two other convictions for lying to la enforcement were upheld. Anthony's defense team argued that it was all one long lie, not separate lies.

New Casey Anthony Movie To Debut In January On The Lifetime Channel

The new movie 'Imperfect Justice' based on the accounts of Jeff Ashton will debut on the Lifetime cable channel in January 2013.

Rob Lowe will play the part of Jeff Ashton, one of the prosecuting attorney's in the Casey Anthony trial in which she was accused of murdering her daughter Caylee. Casey Anthony was acquitted of muder and instead convicted on relatively minor misdemeanor crimes of misleading investigators.

Lead Investigator In George Zimmerman Case, Chris Serino, Has Hired Former Casey Anthony Attorney Jose Baez

According to reports, the lead investigator in the George Zimmerman case, Chris Serino, has hired the attorney who previously represented Casey Anthony.

Serino was the subject of criticism after police reports were leaked in which he filed an arrest affidavit for George Zimmerman but was shut out when Sanford Police CHief Bill Lee publicly said there was not enough evidence to arrest Zimmerman.

Lee later was forced to resign over his handling of the Zimmerman case and how he directed his department in its handling.

Caylee's Law; 32 States Enact Legislation After Trial Of Casey Anthony

32 state have now enacted "Calyee's Law" variations meant to make those responsible for a minor to promptly report to police within 24 hours the disappearance of the minor.

Following the trial of Casey Anthony in which she was acquitted of the murder of her daughter, Caylee Anthony, New Jersey became the first state to enact such a law, beating Florida. Florida however followed quickly with HB 37 which Gov Rick Scott signed into law.

Lifetime Announces Movie Based On Book By Jeff Ashton About His Prosecution of Casey Anthony

Lifetime television station has announced a deal to make a movie based on the book former prosecutor Jeff Ashton wrote about the Casey Anthony trial. Ashton was one of the main prosecutors in the murder trail in Orlando Florida that ended with Anthony being acquitted in the death of her daughter Caylee Anthony in 2011.

The book will be called "Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony." Actor Rob Lowe will play the part of Jeff Ashton.
