Chrysler Recalling 750,000 Jeeps SUV's Over Airbags Deploying Inadvertently While Driving

The Chrysler group has issued a recall for 750,000 Jeep Liberties and Cherokees due to a problem with airbags deploying for no reason while being driven.

Affected vehicles include the Jeep Liberty, model years 2002-2003 and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, model years 2002-2004.

There have been more than 200 reports of an airbag deployment for no reason while the vehicle was being driven. There has also been 81 reported injuries.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the inadvertent deployment is the result of an electrical failure.

The Consumer Reports 2012 Annual Auto Reliability Survey has been released and there were some surprising results.

Scion leads the pack at number 1 along with Toyota and Lexus brands rounding out the top 3, and the next six on the list are held by Japanese auto manufacturers.

Sales Up Big At Nation's Big Three Auto Manufacturers; GM, Ford, Chrysler

June sales saw a big jump at the nations auto manufacturers, with all 3, GM, Ford, Chrysler all posting large gains.

GM posted a 16% gain with Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac all reporting double-digit increases. Sales of crossovers were up 30% compared to last year.

Ford saw a 7% increase in sales compared to last year with its redesigned Ford Escape up 28% and its Fusion also posting very well. The F series pick up truck, the nations best selling vehicle, 11% as gas prices began to moderate, with other 50,000 sold in June.

Jeep Wranglers Recalled Worldwide; Chrysler Says The 87,000 Vehicles Involved Pose Fire Risk

Chrysler has issued a recall of 87,000 Jeep Wranglers worldwide due to a fire risk. The recall affects only Wranglers from the 2010 model year that have automatic transmissions and were built before July 14, 2010 according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, NHTSA.

In the recall, Chrysler states that debris can get caught between a plate the protects the transmission and the catalytic converter causing the debris to become hot and ignite.

Chrysler Issues Recall For 127,350 Dodge Chargers, Chrysler 300s Over Brakes And ESC System

Chrysler has issued a recall of 127,350 Dodge Chargers, Chrysler 300s relating to the brakes and the electronic stability control systems in both the US and Canada.

According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall covers model years 2011 and 2012 that where made before December 20, 2011.
