Apple Announces It Sold 3 Million New iPads During Opening Weekend

Apple has announced that it has sold over 3 million of its newest iPad and iPads Mini's, which is more than was sold during opening weekend of the previous iPad, or iPad 3 as some have called it.

Apple did not break down the numbers between the iPad fourth edition and the iPad mini.

News of this surpassed analyst expectation of between 1 and 1.5 million.

Apple launched the iPad mini to get back a segment of the market in the 8 inch tablet size dominated by Amazon and Google and to keep ahead of Microsoft's new 'Surface' tablet.

Microsoft Says It Fixed Major Security Vulnerability With Internet Explorer Web Browser

Microsoft has announced that it has permanently fixed a major security vulnerability with Internet Explorer and it will be available on Friday.

The vulnerability was discovered by a Luxembourg-based security researcher who was investigating recent security breeches into servers. It was discovered those servers also hosted malicious websites and his computer was infected.

The threat was so high that the German government warned its citizens to stop using Internet Explorer until Microsoft was able to fix the problem.

Microsoft is set to open 30 pop-up stores for the holidays in addition to its 23 permanent stores plus eight more coming and the stores look a lot like Apple stores but with a bit more color. Confused?

Microsoft has been loosing market share to Apple over the last several years as Apple amasses loyal customers and tons of cash by selling expensive products to average consumers.

$60,000 In Computers And Belongings Stolen From Steve Jobs' Home In Palo Alto

An estimated $60,000 worth of computers and personal belongings were stolen from Steve Jobs' house in Palo Alto, California on July 17 and the arrest of a suspect on Aug 2 are only becoming public now.

According to police, 35-year-old Kariem McFarlin of Alameda, Calofirnia has been arrested for the incident and charged with residential burglary and selling stolen property. McFarlin remains in the Santa Clara county jail on a $500,000 bond.

Microsoft To Launch Windows 8 On Oct 26 Along With Surface Tablet

Save the date... Says Microsoft in an announcement during its recent annual sales meeting that it will indeed be launching its newest Windows 8 operating system on October 26, and its new Surface Tablet will also be launched in conjunction with the event.

Microsoft also said its new Windows Phone 8 will launch on or about Oct 26 also.

Microsoft's Steven Sinofsky, president of Windows also said Windows 8 will work with touch-screen devices, mice, keyboard and styluses too.

Until now, the company had not given any exact dates, instead saying sometime in October.
