US Navy Launches Unmanned Drone Aircraft From Aircraft Carrier For First Time

The US Navy has launched an X-47B pilot-less drone combat aircraft from the USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier off the coast of Virginia in the Atlantic Ocean for the first time ever.

Test pilots Bruce McFadden and Dave Lorenz flew the drone made by Northrop Grumman from the flight deck of the carrier during its flight from the carrier.

The successful launch was done yesterday, May 14th, 2013.

Florida Senate Passes Ban On Drone Aircraft From Flying And Spying On Citizens

A Senate Committee has passed a bill unanimously that would ban to use of unmanned aircraft or drones from flying in Florida. The bill makes exceptions in cases where a warrant has been issued by a judge, hostage situations and terrorism.

Despite other states that have allowed drones to some degree or another, Florida's law makes privacy rights the top priorities. The original bill was a blanket ban, but after police chiefs objected, exceptions for warrants, hostage situations, fires and terrorism were allowed.

Sen. Joe Negron (R-Sutart) sponsored the bill.

U.S. Drone Strike Kills Al-Qaeda's 2nd In Command In Pakistan

A U.S. unmanned drone strike has killed Al-Qaeda's second in command in Pakistan, Abu Yahya al-Libi, in a hideout in North Waziristan in Pakistan's tribal areas according to the White House Press secretary, Jay Carney, who described it as a "major blow".

The U.S. has maintained drone strike in Pakistan despite the objections of the Pakistani government, and there is a growing sense the Pakistan is no longer an active ally, but merely a symbolic one at most, with so many terrorist and terror leaders being found and killed inside Pakistan.

Congress Moves To Cut Aid To Pakistan Following It Imprisoning Doctor That Helped U.S. Find Bin Laden

The Senate today approved cutting $33 million in financial aid to Pakistan after Pakistan sentenced Dr. Shakil Afridi to 33 years for assisting the CIA in finding Osama bin Laden saying any other country would have done the same if they found a foreign spy in their own territory.

U.S. Evicted From Shamsi Air Base in Pakistan, Vacating Base That Handled CIA Drone Aircraft By Thursday

Pakistan has evicted the United States from the Shamsi Airbase in Pakistan following further straining of diplomatic ties and the deaths of 24 Pakistani soldiers by a CIA unmanned drone aircraft.

The U.S. blamed the deaths on Pakistan saying it was wanting to take action on militants in the area and asked if there were any units nearby, which Pakistan said no and it could not help. However Pakistan blames the U.S. saying incorrect coordinates were given. The U.S. denies this.
