Drunk Pennsylvania Woman Jumps Into Swollen River To Save Ducks

Rescue officials had to save a Glen Rock, PA woman, Justina Laniewski, after she jumped into a river, that was swollen by Hurricane Sandy, to save two ducks. Police say she was drunk.

After leaping into the river, her 4-year-old son tried to follow but neighbors stopped him.

Police have charged the woman with reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

According to police her blood alcohol was twice the legal driving limit.

Laniewski denies she tried to save tow ducks saying instead she slipped on some rocks and fell into the neck deep rushing water.

St Petersburg Firefighters Save 9 Baby Ducklings In Storm Drain While Mother Watches

Saint Petersburg, Fla. -

Firefighters from Stain 9 responded to a call from Mitchel McNeally about trapped ducklings in a storm drain in St Pete today saving 9 ducklings while their mother watched nearby.

The storm drain was located behind the Old Navy store at Tyrone Square Mall, which is where the firefighters removed the drain cover and entered the murky pit to scoops up the lost and helpless ducklings who had apparently fallen through the cover's openings.

Nearby the mother was visibly upset and stood watch until all of her flock was rescues.
