UK Changes War Crimes Law To Stop Warrants Against Israeli Officials like Tzipi Livni

London, England -

The British Parliament has passed a bill that will change a little-known provision of a law meant to bring war criminals to trial by ordinary citizens. In the past, some have used the law to try to have Israeli officials arrested when visiting England.

Now that the bill received Royal Accent, with the Queen's signature, the Universal Jurisdiction Law has been legally amended, and now these kinds of arrest warrants must have higher approval; originally such approval was not needed, and it now makes Israeli officials visiting the U.K. immune.
