Tampa, Fla. -
A freight train derailed in Tampa, near the Port Of Tampa, spilling ethanol and forcing emergency crews to close the immediate area near the site at Hookers Point. The incident happened overnight at about 1:00am Thursday morning.
A total of 15 cars derailed, and three spilled ethanol.
Officials said they expect the clean to take at least 24 hours.
Ethanol is also known as ethyl alcohol, pure alcohol, grain alcohol, or drinking alcohol and is being increasingly used in gasoline in the U.S.
The NTSB said it will investigate the incident.
