Palm Beach County Firefighter Arrested On Drug Charges After Flagging Down Cop

Rivera Beach, Fla. -

Police in Rivera Beach have arrested 45-year-old Mark E. Freseman on 21 counts of drug charges after police say he flagged down an officer to report that a female he was to meet up with had stolen some personal items.

According to police, after noticing a Four Loko drink, they searched Freseman and the car and found a crack pipe, a prescription bottle containing cocaine, a prescription bottle containing muscle relaxers and hydrocodone.

Freseman claimed he had a valid prescription for the hydrocodone but left the bottle at home.

Saturday Morning House Fire Kills 9 Cats In Sand Lake Hills Subdivision

Orange County, Fla. -

Orange County Firefighters responded to a house fire around 7am this morning at 8301 Tansy Drive, in the Sand Lake Hills subdivision.

Fire crews said one person and 11 cats lived in the home but were only able to save the person and two of the cats, nine others perished.

The Red Cross is assisting the homeowner and and Orange County Animal Services are assisting with housing and caring for the two surviving cats.

Mercedes-Benz Catches Fire At Fort Myers Repair Shop Causing Building To Catch Fire

Fort Myers, Fla. -

The Fort Myers Fire Department responded to a fire at the Pro-Tech automotive services repair shop around 2:45am last night in which several other cars were damaged in the incident.

The fire was caught on a surveillance video in which the engine of a Mercedes ignited and sparks jumped to nearby cars.

Four cars were destroyed as well two more were damaged by the fire and the building suffered fire damage but the fire did not spread to a nearby building where the manager of the repair facility, Danney Rush, kept his dog last night.

World Trade Center Fire Alarm On 88th Floor Was False Alarm

New York City -

Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at the World Trade Center's 88th floor just before 8:00am this morning.

After responding, officials realized it was a false alarm and mistaken for someone welding. Steve Coleman, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which owns the site, said the fire report was called in by a member of the public.

Last week the new WTC's 104th floor was being constructed with a beam lifted into place that was signed by President Obama.

Colorado Wildfires Have Become A Killer, Fire Possibly Started By Arsonist

Colorado Springs, CO -

The Waldo Canyon Fire has become a killer as emergency crews found the remains of at least one human, possibly more in one of the burned areas of the fire as it encroaches on densly populated Colorado Springs.

As many as 32,000 people have been evactuated, though some have since been allowed to return. Fire officials say they have about 15% of the fire contained and expect full containment by July 16.

Using a more accurate mapping system, fire officials say the fire has conumed 16,750 acres, which is less than what was believed yesterday.

Colorado Wildfires Grow Even More, 346 Homes Destoryed And Counting

Wildland fires continue to burn in Colorado as half of all of the nation's fire fighting resourses are now in Colorado attempting to at least stop the destruction of more homes and businesses.

Fire officials have confirmed the Waldo Canyon fire has destroyed at least 346 homes and more are likely to be burned to their foundation and the fire continues with only about 10% containment as of Thursday afternoon.

NASA's Aqua satellite passed over the High Park Fire in Colorado on June 10, 2012 at 2030 UTC (4:30 p.m. EDT) and captured this visible image of the thick pall of smoke blowing east, just north of Fort Collins. The fire has grown to more than 60 square miles in just two days.

Wildfires In Colorado, New Mexico Grow Forcing Hundreds To Evacuate; 60 Sqaure Miles Scorched

The wildfires burning in Colorado and New Mexico continue to burn forcing hundreds to evacuate. The main fire burning in Colorado has grown to over 22 square miles while the fire in New Mexico has reached 40 square miles and destroyed at least 20 structures and is growing closer to residential homes.

Fire officials in New Mexico report the fire there is not contained and expected to spread since they have not been able to build containment lines yet.

Accused Killer Of Seminole County Firefighter Jerry Perdomo Heads To Court Today

Daniel Porter, the man accused of killing Seminole County Firefighter Jerry Perdomo in February, will be arraigned in court today in Waldo County Superior Court in Belfast, Maine. Porter is accused of shooting Perdomo over a drug debt.

According to investigators, Perdomo, who is married and lives in Orange City Florida, had been making monthly drug runs to Maine where he would stay with his mistress, and on his last trip, took along a handgun intending to make Porter pay up for drugs Perdomo had previously supplied him.
