Turkey Opens Criminal Investigations On IDF Soldiers From 2010 Flotilla To Gaza

Turkey has launched criminal charges against four senior IDF officials related to the 2010 deaths aboard the Turkish ship MV Mavi Marmara in which nine people died, 8 Turkish nationals and one American. This comes after Israeli PM Netanyahu apologized to Turkish PM Tayyip Erdogan on March 22 after prodding by Barack Obama.

Following the apology, Erdogan said his conditions have been met to normalize relations with Israel, which were easing of the Gaza blockade, an apology and compensation to those who died on the ship.

Israel Keeps Its Word And Is Delivering Dual Use Construction Material To Gaza That Was Previously Banned

Following the truce between Israel and the Hamas led Gaza, Israel confirmed it will allow the delivery construction materials including gravel, which is a dual use material. Dual use means it can also be used in the making of weapons.

The delivery of the materials is part of the agreement with Hamas following Israel’s Operation Pillar of Defense which was aimed at stopping the hundreds of rockets that Gaza militants had been firing into Israeli towns over the last year.

Iran Admits To Supplying Rockets And Technology To Hamas In Gaza Strip

Iranian Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari has acknowledged that Iran has supplied Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip with rockets and the technology to "quickly" produce more themselves accordin to his statement to ISNA news agency, the semi-official news agency of the Iranian government.

"Gaza is under siege, so we cannot help them. The Fajr-5 missiles have not been shipped from Iran. Its technology has been transferred and (the missiles are) being produced quickly," said Gen. Ali Jafari.

In the past, accusations of Iran helping Hamas were denied by Iran.

Gaza Militants Launch Rocket Attacks On Tel Aviv

Gaza militants have launched one of their newest rockets, the Fajr-5, at Tel Aviv, the economic center of Israel. This comes after Israel launched targets arial attacks on hamas militant leaders in an effort to the stop 274 rockets that have been launched from Gaza into Israel recently.

Hamas leader in Gaza, Ismail Haniyeh condemned the Israeli attack into Gaza as a "ferocious assault" against Gaza and said they will remain "steadfast and unshaken" in a televised statement.

Eygpt Sends Huge Military Convoy To Sinai Peninsula To Restore Order After Militants Strike

Egypt has sent a large convoy of military forces along with large cranes, bulldozers and other construction and engineering equipment into the Sinai Peninsula in an attempt to restore order there after the region saw attacks on police stations and Islamic militants launch rockets into Israel.

The developments come days after 16 Egyptian soldiers were killed and seven others were wounded when assailants with semiautomatic weapons and hand grenades stole two armored vehicles from Egyptian forces and tried to enter Israel.

Israel Reaches Truce With Palestinians Militants In Gaza After Four Days Of Attacks

Israel has said it has reached an "understanding" with Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip following four days of rocket attacks into Israeli towns injuring at least 35 Israeli civilians.

The truce was brokered by Egyptian authorities between Hamas and Israeli officials. The recent violence "appears to be behind us," said Israeli Cabinet Minister Matan Vilnai.

The basic framework the two sides agreed to is Israel will stop targeting leaders of militant groups in Gaza in return for militants stopping rocket attacks into Israel.

2 Yachts Carrying Americans and Canadians Attempting to Break Israeli Blockade of Gaza, Israeli Navy to Stop Vessels

Two yachts carrying American, Canadian and Irish activists left Turkey, bound tor Gaza, trying to break the Israeli blockade.

Lieutenant-Colonel Avital Leibovich, speaking to reporters by telephone, would not say how the boats might be stopped, saying only "we will have to assess and see if we are facing violent passengers."

Israel would offer to unload any aid supplies on board and deliver them to Gaza, Leibovich said. Israel blockades the Gaza coast to prevent the smuggling of weapons to Palestinian gunmen in the territory, she added.
