AT&T And GM Agree On Telematic Deal For Cars Starting In 2014

General Motors has agreed to let AT&T provide wireless LTE communications to new GM cars starting in 2014. Currently GM uses Verizon Wireless to link OnStar services in vehicles to GM's call center, but this will end as both said they will start the switch almost immediately.

AT&T expects about $1 billion in telematic communication revenue eventually as more manufacturers rush to connect their vehicles to the internet, known as M2M, machine to machine.

GM Recalling 69,000 Trucks, Vans And SUV's Over Defect That Lets A Parked Vehicle Roll Away

Detroit, MI -

General Motors has issued a recal of about 69,000 trucks, suv's and van that may have one of two defects that could allow a parked vehicle roll away.

The defect is believed to be related to a fractured park lock cable or a malformed steering column lock actuator gear.

GM Issues Recall Of Full-Sized Vans In U.S. And Canada

Detroit, MI -

General Motors has issued a recall for 2003-2004 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans. The recall is due to road salt may cause corrosion on the fuel pipe said a GM spokesperson. U.S. safety regulators added the affected vans are at a greater risk of a fire as a result of the corrosion.

In all, 10,315 vehicles are included in this recall, and only covers the affected vans that are in cold weather states in the U.S. and Canada, vans sold in areas that do not get regular snow are not included in the recall.

Popular GM Test Track Ride At Epcot To Close Monday

Orlando, Fla. -

Disney World has announced that the popular "Test Track" ride at its Epcot park will close Monday to undergo a complete makeover of the ride, its first major overhaul since it opened in 1999. The ride is sponsored by General Motors, GM.

The Test Track takes users on an adventurous ride simulating the various testing phases GM cars go through while being designed and built and and then into a high speed run around the outer ring reaching speeds up to 65mph in the high bank.
