Obama Administration Considers Transferring High Risk Gitmo Detainee Mohammed Fazl To Afghanistan For Peace Deal

According to reports, President Obama has been considering transferring Guantanamo detainee Mohammed Fazl, considered a high level, high risk detainee, along with five others to Afghanistan in an effort to get the Taliban to make peace.

According to Reuters, the negotiations have been underway for several months now citing congressional classified letters and that there is bipartisan opposition to this possible deal.

Federal Judge Throws Out Former Guantanamo Detainee Case Over Abuse

Federal Court Judge Richard Leon has dismissed a suit brought by a former Guantanamo Detainee Abdul Rahim Abdul Razak al Janko of Syria on the grounds that the court does not have jurisdiction because congress stripped the federal court from hearing lawsuit brought by detainees over abuse cases with the U.S. Military Commissions Act.
