Disney 'Wonder' Cruise Ship Rescues Stranded Rafters Off Key West

Disney's cruise ship 'Wonder' spotted migrant rafters that had become distressed about 42 miles off the coast of Key West, in the Straits of Florida, and provided emergency services.

According to Disney spokesperson Rebecca Peddie, the rafters were given food, water and medical attention and turned over to the U.S. Coast Guard.

Their nationalities have not been made public yet.

The Coast Guard reported there were no injuries.

Republican Party In Turmoil After Conservative Groups Threaten To Leave

Several conservative republican groups have written letters threatening to leave the party if the GOP does not reaffirm its stance to win a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage and supporting the Defense of Marriage Act.

Among the several letter writters were Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, Phyllis Schlafly of the Eagle Forum, James Dobson of Family Talk Action and Marjorie Dannenfelser of Susan B. Anthony List.

Tea Party Republican Rand Pual Endorses Path To Citizenship for Illegal Immigrants

In what may called a surprise, leading Tea Party Republican Ran Paul has announced that he now supports a path to citizenship for the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the country.

Senator Paul said that he believes most should get to become tax payers and eventually a chance at citizenship.

Immigration Has Plans To Release Another 3,000 Illegal Immigrants During Sequestration

Immigration officials are planning to release another 3,000 undocumented immigrants from custody following a controversial release last week in which the Obama administration said it had released a few hundred.

According to records by the Department of Homeland Security intended for congress which were obtained by the press, the original release was actually 2,000, not a few hundred, and the agency wants to release another 3,000. Those releases were mainly in California, Texas and Florida.

President Obama Calls For Immigration Overhaul During Speech In Las Vegas

President Obama gave a speech today at the Del Sol High School in Las Vegas, NV to promote his immigration overhaul plan to the American voters.

Obama's plan was similar to the plan put forward by the Senate yesterday by a bipartisan group.

Among Obama's immigration plan; it provides a path to citizenship for the "dreamers", young adults who were brought her as kids by their parents, and included a provision for same-sex couples under the definition of "family", prospective green card holders and citizens would also have to pass a background check and learn English.

21 Arrested In Fake Marriage For Immigration Scheme

21 people have been arrested in a fake marriage for immigration scheme, including 12 from Central Florida.

Authorities say the organization arranged marriages between U.S. Citizens and foreigners wanting a U.S. permanent Resident Card, also known as a Green Card.

Authorities also arrested participants in New York, Denver, Kansas City, New Orleans and Charleston, S.C. in an operation dubbed "Knot so fast".

If convicted, each faces up to five years in federal prison.

New Immigration Fight In Arizona Over "Show Me Your Papers" Law

Arizona's immigration law has ended up in federal court again, this time being challenged over what some call a controversial provision of the law commonly called "show me your papers".

Immigration rights groups and the ACLU are going up against the state, this time before District Court Judge Susan Bolton in an effort to halt other provisions of the law not already struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The FBI Is Looking For Your Tattoo's

The FBI recently put out a request for information, RFI, to police departments nationwide, along with vendors and other security and industry professionals asking them to submit pictures of anyone they have encountered that has a tattoo.

The request is part of the FBI's program already underway to catalog biometric information on as m any people as possible and will be added to its iris and facial recognition database along with existing fingerprint.

Supreme Court Strikes Down Most Of Arizona's Immigration Law

The Supreme Court has struck down three of the four controversial provisions of Arizona's immigration law in a 5-3 ruling on Monday. The only provision the justices upheld was the police could check someone's immigration status during a legal stop by police for other reasons and that process must not result in detaining the person stopped for an extended period.
